Dr Colin Mendelsohn, one of Australia’s leading smoking cessation experts and president of the Australian Tobacco Harm Reduction Association (ATHRA),He cited the lung injury and death related to electronic cigarette smoking that broke out in the United States from the middle of 2019 to the beginning of 2020.

He shared that 14% of the case reports only used nicotine – these findings are related to the claim that nicotine products cause related lung injury.
He said in February 2020, the epidemic in the United States led to 2807 hospitalizations and deaths. The above cases mainly affect people who modified cbd vape devices or use black market modified cbd vape oil.
In a survey, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that many patients with lung injury used a variety of tobacco and cannabis products. CDC has identified vitamin E acetate as a chemical of concern to EVALI patients, and this chemical was found in lung fluid samples of all patients examined by CDC.
According to Dr. Mendelsohn, EVALI is misleading because it implies that all e- cigarette products can cause this disease, and the only definite reason is Thc Vape Oil products such as delta 10 thc, delta 9 thc which were contaminated by vitamin E acetate.

It is unbelievable that nicotine e- cigarette products have played a role in EVALI. Before or after the outbreak, there were no confirmed cases of EVALI caused by nicotine smoking.” Dr. Mendelssohn said. He added that the outbreak of lung injury was caused by the e-cigarette contaminated with vitamin E acetate in black market THC oil.

In view of the inherent possibility of e- cigarette causing related lung injury, about 75 multidisciplinary experts requested the CDC to change the name of the disease, because it was misleading and wrongly implied that all vape devices would cause this disease, and the only identified reason was that THC e-cig products were contaminated with vitamin E acetate.

Medical experts and public health regulators around the world have found that e-cigarettes are the most popular aid to quitting or reducing smoking, and can therefore help smokers switch to better alternatives.

In fact, the public health benefits offered by e-cigarettes have been approved by the UK’s National Health Service and New Zealand’s Ministry of Health, as they have accepted the use of e-cigarettes to help smokers give up smoking.

As public health authorities and the public increasingly accept the science behind it and thoughtful and balanced regulatory framework, e-cigarettes will continue to play a key role in helping smokers all over the world give up smoking.
